Jenny's Background

Jenny Burleson Allen is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who specializes in work with adolescents and young adults. She has been a counselor since 2009 in private practice, hospital settings and and schools. Acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, elements of dialectical behavioral therapy and creative techniques are all utilized in Jenny's work. She is passionate about mindfulness with her clients, and works within a developmental context. Jenny received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Masters in Education in Counseling and Development at Winthrop University. She has also completed graduate work and further studies in the areas of child and family development, play therapy, mindfulness and anxiety. Jenny works with clients to identify strengths, build coping skills, and set goals that are unique to each client's needs.
